Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Pop1Stats (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by StoraH as a personal project based in Sweden. Pop1Stats is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to BigBox VR, Meta Platforms, or any of their subsidiaries.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following information:

  • Discord account data: When you log in via Discord OAuth, we receive your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and email address.
  • Player data: In-game player names and statistics from Population: One, sourced from third-party APIs.
  • Payment data: If you subscribe to Pop1Stats Supporter, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Stripe.
  • Usage data: Basic analytics such as page views and feature usage to help us improve the service, tied to your account id when you are signed in.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the Pop1Stats service
  • To authenticate your identity via Discord
  • To process Supporter subscription payments via Stripe
  • To display your player statistics and leaderboard rankings
  • To improve the service based on usage patterns
  • To communicate service updates or issues

4. Third-party services

We share data with the following third parties:

  • Discord: Authentication via OAuth. Subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for Supporter subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog: Analytics that tell us which pages are used, error reports when something on the site or in the app breaks, and the technical logs our servers write, all so we can improve the project. Visitors are counted without cookies and without being identified. When you are signed in, your usage and any error you hit are tied to your account, along with your Discord name and id, your in-game name and your roles, so we can see who uses what and follow a visit from page to page. We may also record those signed-in visits, like a video of what is on screen, to find what is hard to use. Anything you type and your email are hidden in these recordings, and visitors who are not signed in are never recorded. Recordings are deleted after 30 days. The mobile app is counted per device and is not tied to an account. Error reports and logs can also include your player id and the pages or rooms involved. We never send your email. Analytics and error reports are deleted within a year, logs within 90 days. Subject to PostHog's Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies

We only use essential cookies required to maintain your login session. Our analytics (PostHog) sets no cookies: visitors are counted in cookieless mode, and when you are signed in your analytics id is kept in your browser's local storage instead. No tracking cookies are set. We do not use any third-party advertising cookies.

6. Where your data is stored

Pop1Stats is operated from Sweden but our servers and data are hosted in the United States (New York) to provide the best performance for the majority of our users. By using the service, you consent to your data being transferred to and stored in the US. We take reasonable measures to protect your data regardless of where it is stored.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated statistics may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

As we are based in the EU, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your account and personal data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data.

9. Age requirement

Pop1Stats is designed for users aged 16 and older. If you are under 16, we recommend using the service with a parent or guardian's approval.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
